COMMUNICATION, A REAL PHENOMENON

We have been comunicating to each other since the human being has use of reason, although this communication has been changing over time, but always improving, from being writing on scrolls to writing through a computer, device which nobody could imagined looking a few years back. There are many types of communication, either oral or written, in this case, it is written, because I want to focus on electronic communication.

We can define electronic communication as the most advanced form of communication through the use of technologies. There are several types:

• Mobile thelephony
• SMS
• Teleconferences
• Social networks
• Blogs
• etc

Focusing more on what really interests me, what would we be today without our mobile phone or our social networks? It is fully proven that the majority of people who have social networks are addicten to them, to the point of not doing certain daily obligations to be on social networks or simply surfing on Internet. So it is clear that it would be weird imagine a life without the technologies of today. 

But within all this, can social networks or the Internet improve our comunication, or make it worse? 

Therefore, I will talk about the advantages and disadvantages of the Internet and communicate through it.

ADVANTAGES OF SOCIAL NETWORKS AND COMMUNICATION.

Provided that social media are used correctly, it can have many advantages, both on a personal and bussines level.

      

       1. Instant communication.

•  Social networks offer the opportunity to share special moments and get in touch with friends or strangers from any part of the world with which we have things in common.

      2. Job opportunities.

• Many companies look for posible candidates in professional social media. They even investigate their personal profiles in other networks such as Fcaebook or Twitter to better know their candidates. That it why it it so important to correctly configure the privacy of our profiles and be very careful with what we upload.

     3. Information and entertainment.

• They offer information and entertainment in real time. We can choose who to follow or what kind of communication we are interested in to keep us informed                on what happens anywhere in the world.

    4. Improve your company. 

• You can increase the visibility of your brand, attract more customers, the    possibility of associating a web page with the brand where you can buy online or  inform in a better way, collaboration between professional brands more easily,    opportunity to analyze the competition, etc.

DESADVANTAGES OF SOCIAL NETWORKS AND INTERNET.

Sometimes more than inconveniences or desadvantages, it could be said that bad use of social networks can have negative consequences.

     1. Scams in social networks.

• Scams in social networks to people are becoming more common. Therefore it is important to know what are the most common scams and how to avoid them, seeing if the web page in which we are going to buy is really safe.

           

     2. Configuration of our privacy.

• It is very important that we review the privacy setting before starting to upload content or disclose personal data. For this we must determinate the amount of data we want or we should publish.

    

    3. Compliance with the rules of use.

• Failure to comply with the rules of use of social media by publishing inappropiate content can result in the closure of the profile or worse things.

    4. Cyberbullyng.

• Cyberbullyng is the digital variant of bullyng that consists of humiliating a person repeatedly with insulting and cruel messages or threats on social networks. When this happens to you, the first thing you should do is tell an adult or report that person.

PERSONAL OPINNION.

From my point of view, I can say that I have an addiction to technologies, specifically social networks, and honestly, I would not imagine a life without them, because thanks to electronic communication we have improved a lot, (although it has bad things) but never putting things much more important  as friends or family before the technologies.
